About the Author

Bernette Ford has written many books for children, including The Magical Snowflake, First Snow, and Ballet Kitty for Boxer Books. A publisher for many years, she also worked as a children’s book packager through her company, Color-Bridge Books. She lived in Brooklyn, New York, with her husband, George Ford, an award-winning illustrator. After her death in 2021, an award in her name is to be established in 2024.

About the Illustrator

HARRIET BLACKFORD has a degree in zoology from the University of London and began her career there in the zoology department. Harriet is the author of numerous nonfiction titles for children, a business director, and a keen bird watcher. She has three children and two grandchildren and is married to the author and illustrator Sam Williams.

BRITTA TECKENTRUP published her first major works with Boxer Books including Big Smelly Bear, Grumpy Cat, and Clumsy Duck. She is an internationally acclaimed bestselling author. ​
